Chris Turpin

Chris started skiing in the winter of 2000 and blowtorched the tail of his first pair of skis so that he could ride switch! He rose to the top of the Freeride circuit quickly, going head to head with Tanner Hall at the WSI, finishing 2nd in the Big Air. An incredibly talented athlete, he suffered a few injuries which forced him out of the limelight for a while. Now making a strong comeback, he was the talk of the ski camp scene in Whistler this summer.

Originally from Red Deer, Alberta, Chris now lives in Pemberton, just north of Whistler.

He says: " I love to ski for so many ressions such as: the sound of the air in my ears, the view from the top of the hill, the speed, the people, the air in my lungs as well as under my feet, the sound of my jacket ripping as I fly into a jump, the feeling I get when I make a turn in pow, most of all though I love skiing because it's a fun way for me to express myself."
